A new and improved Chiliz Chain is coming.

Last month saw the launch of the Chiliz Scoville Testnet, the first milestone towards building a protocol foundation for our web3 ecosystem, focused on sports and entertainment. The testnet has slightly staggered launches, where functionality will be added and tested over the duration of 6 different phases.

Ethereum transactions are fundamentally too expensive for the average web3 user and the current version of the Chiliz Blockchain is not optimized for web3 deployment.

At the beginning of the year, we teased that we would be working with industry leading infrastructure provider ANKR to help us build our vision. The launch of the main network is scheduled for Q3-Q4 of 2022, take note as this will see Fan Tokens migrated to the new network.

Not only will Fan Tokens be migrated, but, network participants could potentially become a validator and share in the success of the ecosystem by splitting a % of fees generated on the network between validators (orgs/individuals) and delegates (users), this is called ‘staking’ and is the underlying consensus algorithm behind CC2.

Finally, we will launch an accelerator program for companies/developers who are building web3 applications, this will help us identify and fund on-chain ‘content’ that will make CC2 a household name in the sports, entertainment x web3 ecosystem.
