Partners With River Plate And Adds New Global Powerhouse To Its Fan Token Portfolio

BUENOS AIRES, FEBRUARY 1ST: Club Atlético River Plate, in partnership with Chiliz, the leading blockchain provider for the sports and entertainment industry, have announced that they will launch their official Fan Token $RIVER on the all-in-one fan engagement and rewards app.

River Plate are the reigning Argentinian champions and a true powerhouse of Latin American football, with 36 league titles and over 10 international trophies, including four CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores and a FIFA Intercontinental Cup. 

The Fan Token $RIVER will give the club’s estimated 20 million global fans the chance to engage with and influence the club like never before. For the first time ever, fans will be able to take part in decision-making processes by voting in polls to choose kit designs, squad numbers for new signings, celebration songs, inspirational messages and other fan-related topics.

Influencing the club is just one of the many perks of these digital assets that are redefining the way fans connect with their teams and heroes across the global sports industry. River Plate Fan Token holders will also enjoy exclusive discounts and promotions, as well as the chance to earn unique rewards, from signed merch and VIP tickets to club-related NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). 

Through the app, fans will also be able to connect with other fans around the world, putting their skills to the test in games and quizzes, competing in global leaderboards and earning real-life and digital club-related rewards, benefits and experiences along the way.  

In 2021, Fan Token partners launched over 300 Fan Polls on the app and rewarded 5,000 Fan Token holders with club merch, tickets, VIP experiences and other prizes. 

The launching date of the $RIVER Fan Token will be announced soon as will the subject of the first Fan Poll, which will be available on the app as soon as the Token is released.
