Manchester City: 2024-2025 Season Player Movements

The Final Stretch of the Premier League_ Championship Battle 2024_

Manchester City are aiming for the fifth Premier League title in a row and they’re spending their pre-season getting ready for it.

Transfers are often taking place at the Etihad and here we’ll look at what could happen for the English champions this summer.

Key Signings

The main signing so far for City is the arrival of Brazil’s Savio who’s arrived from Troyes for a reported fee of £21m.

City are likely to strengthen their squad further throughout the summer and updates will be provided here.

Notable Departures

No major outgoings have taken so place so far but there is speculation linking Ederson and Kevin de Bruyne to moves away from the club.

Liam Delap has joined Ipswich Town whilst Taylor Harwood-Bellis has left for Southampton.

Lewis Fiorini, Sergio Gomez, and Tommy Doyle have also left the club.

Transfer Strategy and Objectives

A lot of City’s business will be based on what outgoings take place at the club as Kevin de Bruyne and Ederson will urgently need replacing.

No names are currently linked to the club, but City are known to be huge admirers of Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala.

Could the German midfielder be the man to step in and replace De Bruyne.

Elsewhere in the squad, Pep Guardiola is likely to be content with his players and may just add some additional players for injury purposes.

Key Fixtures and Challenges

The big challenge for City this season will be dealing with the potential absence of Kevin de Bruyne, and they replace the magical Belgian.

Apart from that, City could be chased down by Arsenal and Liverpool who’ll both be confident they can improve on their 2023/24 seasons by finishing above City.

City start their campaign against Chelsea, and with the fixture taking place at Stamford Bridge, it could prove to be a tricky start.

Fan Reactions and Expectations

The expectations at City are always high and fans of the club will be hoping they achieve success in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Arsenal and Liverpool will be a concern and their transfer activity could go a long way in helping either side overtake City.

This could be Pep Guardiola’s last season and he’ll be aiming to leave on a high with another Premier League title.
