San Siro AC Milan History – A Journey Through Time

Constructed in 1925, the San Siro was opened the following year and was introduced to the world with a Milan derby that saw Inter win 6-3.

Home of both Milan clubs, the stadium has numerous high-profile games, but it’s also played its part for the national team including being one of the main venues at Italia 90.

As well as football the stadium has also hosted other events such as boxing, rugby union, and many concerts.

Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, and Coldplay are just a number of performers who’ve played at the San Siro.

San Siro AC Milan Renovation – Shaping the Modern Jewel

After opening in 1926, we the first set of renovations occurred in the 1940s when there was plans to increase the capacity to 150,000.

Those ideas were eventually put on hold, and it was agreed that the new capacity would be 75,000.

Further work took place for the 1990 World Cup with the towers at the corner of the stadium being redeveloped for the tournament with work also done on the roof.

In 1996, a museum was opened at the stadium to highlight the incredible success of AC Milan and their biggest rivals, Inter.

Transport access to the stadium is fairly routine with buses and trains accessing the venue.
