SL Benfica and announce Benfica Fan Token launch date

  • SL Benfica’s official Fan Token will be launched on the 24th of July through a Fan Token Offering (FTO®) that will kick-off at 12:00h.

LISBON. JULY 4TH 2023. Sport Lisboa e Benfica, in partnership with Chiliz, the sports blockchain, will be launching the BENFICA Fan Token on the fan engagement and rewards app on July 24th.

500.000 BENFICA Fan Tokens will be made available at 1€ through a Fan Token Offering (FTO®) that will kick off at 12.00 local time. Purchases will be capped at 100 Fan Tokens during the first 24 hours to ensure that as many Benfica fans as possible can access this unique opportunity. 

The Benfica Fan Token will give Benfica fans the chance to participate in team decisions by voting in Fan Polls on official merch designs, in-stadium celebration songs and other fan-related topics. Fans will also be able to enjoy special discounts, promotions and earn exclusive rewards for their loyalty. is a gamified EngageToEarn platform packed with club-themed features, including predictors, check-ins, trivia quizzes and games where fans can enjoy their passion for their team and share it with other fans across the world. Each time users engage with these features they earn XP points and SSU loyalty tokens which they can redeem for a wide range of rewards, from signed products to VIP tickets and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

One (1) BENFICA Fan Token will be enough to vote on all the Fan Polls launched by SL Benfica on and to participate in all the Benfica-themed features. However, the more BENFICA Fan Tokens held, the higher the influence and the more opportunities to earn rewards.

All the existing SL Benfica members will be offered one (1) free non-tradable BENFICA Fan Token.

To get familiar with this new platform, that is reshaping fan engagement across the sports industry and to start earning their first XP points loyalty tokens, Benfica fans are encouraged to download the app and register choosing SL Benfica as their favorite club. 

There they will find Voo da Vitória, a gamified countdown feature created to celebrate the launch of Benfica’s official Fan Token, which will give fans the chance to follow the Vitória eagle as it flies to Estádio da Luz, where it will land on the 24th of July, whilst earning exciting rewards.

This game will give Benfica fans the chance to revisit some of the moments and places that have shaped the history of the Club while putting their knowledge to the test for the chance to earn BENFICA Fan Tokens and SSU loyalty tokens. They will also have the opportunity to win a pair of tickets to visit the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião, as well as signed jerseys.
