Bursaspor To Launch Fan Token On Socios.com

BURSA, MAY 26th 2021:  Turkish TFF First League side Bursaspor, in partnership with blockchain providers for the sports and entertainment industry  Chiliz, have announced plans to launch a $BUR Fan Token on fan engagement and rewards platform Socios.com in the coming months.

Major successes include winning the Süper Lig in 2009-10.  The club’s most successful foray into European competition came in 1975 when they reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup Winners Cup.

$BUR Fan Tokens are collectible digital assets, minted on the Chiliz blockchain, that provide owners with access to voting rights in polls, VIP rewards, exclusive club and sponsor promotions, AR-enabled features, chat forums, games and competitions on Chiliz’ fan engagement and rewards mobile app Socios.com.

The Bursa-based side will become the sixth Turkish club to launch a Fan Token, joining Galatasaray, Trabzonspor,  İstanbul Başakşehir,  Göztepe and Alanyaspor on the Socios.com roster.

The Socios.com network consists of 36 elite international sporting properties, including the UFC®, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AC Milan and Manchester City.   Today’s announcement follows last week’s news that NASCAR’s Roush Fenway Racing, Argentina’s national soccer team and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders of India’s IPL had linked up with Socios.com. Also last week, two Formula 1 teams, Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team and Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN joined Socios.com too.

Driven by the central tenet that transitioning passive fans into active fans is essential to the future of sport, Socios.com is a direct-to-consumer (D2C) platform that leverages blockchain technology to provide the world’s leading sporting organizations with the tools to engage with and monetize their  global fanbases.

Created by Chiliz, the leading blockchain provider for the global sports and entertainment industry, Socios.com has major global expansion plans and will increase their existing presence in Europe, while targeting many more Fan Token launches in the U.S, U.K, Asia and South America.

The company has a Turkish headquarters and multiple office locations around the world. In 2021, Chiliz will open new US, European and South American headquarters. Fan Tokens have generated over $120M in revenues to be shared with Socios.com partners in 2021 alone.

Details on the launch date for the $BUR Fan Token, the price and the first poll will be revealed soon.

Bursaspor Club President Erkan Kamat said:  “We set out on a new road with Socios.com in order to demonstrate the cooperation with the supporters of our club on digital platforms, leaving the hard days behind us.

“Our aim is to establish a stronger and more sustainable communication between our fans and our club. In this sense, with the $BUR Fan Token, our fans will have the opportunity to have a say in club decisions and at the same time win valuable awards and privileges.

“With the competition on the field, football has turned into a race to catch up with the innovations of the digital world and to present these innovations to its fans as products and services. We are very pleased with our cooperation with Socios.com in order to be one of the strongest actors of this race, and we invite all our fans to support.”

Alexandre Dreyfus, Founder and CEO of Chiliz and Socios.com also said:  “Just over a decade ago Bursaspor were crowned champions of the Süper Lig.

“This club has known amazing success in the past that has created an incredible bond between the team and its passionate fans.

“Through Fan Tokens, those supporters will now have the opportunity to get closer to the team than ever before.

“We’re delighted to welcome Bursaspor to our network as our sixth Turkish club and 36th partner overall. We are also very pleased to continue building our presence in the Turkish market, where the shift from passive fans into active fans through transactional fan engagement on the Socios.com platform is happening faster than anywhere else in the world.”
