Here, we look at the current landscape with two races now complete.

Notable Performances

Can anyone else push Max Verstappen apart from Sergio Perez? This is shaping up to be a one-sided championship if other drivers don’t get their act together and try to stop Verstappen running away with it.

The Dutch driver has begun this season’s campaign so impressively and he’s producing the form of his life which is some compliment considering what he’s achieved before this season.

Lewis Hamilton has long been his greatest rival but even he looks off the pace this year meaning that Perez is likely to be the man who can push him the most.

Looking Ahead

Next up on the schedule is a trip down under for the Australian Grand Prix on March 24.

Although this is only the third race of the season, you get the feeling that a win for Verstappen will see the other fighting it out for second place.

This has to be the race where somebody makes a statement and informs Verstappen that he won’t have things his own way.

Leclerc had success here in 2022 and he’ll be hoping he can repeat that victory and put some pressure on the leader.
