Notable Performances

Like in many seasons, the day belonged to Max Verstappen as the Dutch driver delivered an impeccable performance to race home to glory in the opening event of the campaign.

Many believed Verstappen would be the man to stop this year and he proved that is likely to be the case with a dominant display in Bahrain.

Sergio Perez was another impressive performer, but he knows it’s going to work take something special to stop Verstappen in this form.

Lewis Hamilton, Verstappen’s great rival, could only finish seventh and he’ll be aiming for a much-improved race in his next outing.

Implications for the Championship

The goal for every driver barring Max Verstappen is how to stop the Dutchman from exerting his dominance on the 2024 season.

In his best form, Verstappen is a ruthless driver who knows what it takes to win every race as well as securing championships.

Many drivers will know they’re capable of beating Verstappen but can they do it enough times over a season to prevent him from winning the championship.

Bahrain has gone now so the drivers will need to regroup and ensure they can get their campaign up and running at the next opportunity.

Looking Ahead

Next up on the schedule for the drivers is a trip to Saudi Arabia during the Riyadh Festival as the drivers look to make a significant impact.

If Verstappen can secure a second-straight victory, then it’s going to be hard for us the remaining competitors even at this stage.

After Saudi Arabia is a trip to Australia followed but visits to Japan and China. Nothing is won after five races, but it’ll be interesting to see who’ll be the biggest threat to Verstappen after the first few events are out the way.
