As the 2023/24 season draws to a close, reflects on a season which delivered more rewards than ever, broke new ground to connect global audiences through integration and provision of unique experiences both on and off the pitch and expanded its roster of partners and its global user base.

Rewards reaching new heights

53k rewards were redeemed by Fan Token holders this season, a record for the app, as it also celebrated  a record number of global participants across this year’s ‘Take the Pitch’ experiences giving fans the ultimate chance to feel like their favourite player for the day through playing 11-a-side matches at some of the most iconic stadiums on the planet. 

The platform took innovation to a new level this season to bring fans all over the world even closer to their heroes. Fan Token holders of Atletico Madrid and AS Monaco were able to quite literally rub shoulders with their favourite stars through a unique photo experience enabling them to feature in team official 2023/24 team photos. 

A specially interactive digital series powered by immersive reality platform Chiliz partner, FanFest, catered to the needs of our global community spanning 160+ countries was launched too. The series  has already featured some of the biggest names in world football including French football star Kylian Mbappe with PSG and Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou who starred in’s inaugural event, ‘Answers with Ange’. A bright future lies ahead for this new form of interactive streaming having already pushed the boundaries through the most recent Etihad Stadium virtual tour with Manchester City Legend Joleon Lescott as it looks to even further evolve next season.

Relentless innovation also brought about one of the app’s biggest feature releases this season in the form of ‘Locker Room’. The Locker Room feature has provided fans with a new opportunity to own exclusive digital collectibles of their favourite teams by locking their Fan Tokens and already seen 40k digital collectibles redeemed during the 2023/24 season with further chances for fans to redeem collectibles this Summer. 

Integration – Making the Fan Token experience accessible to millions

The 2023/24 season not only saw drastically increase its provision of truly unique opportunities and once-in-a-lifetime experiences but it was also a season in which the platform made the Fan Token experience available to millions of new fans through some major integrations as well as overhauling its rewards mechanics, transitioning from XP and SSU to Reward Points facilitating an improved process for fans to earn rewards.

Last month, a groundbreaking Fan Token integration with Atletico Madrid was announced allowing fans to access features and additional Atlético-themed features through the Club’s official App. ‘The Fan Token Experience’ is just the latest example of a partner integrating Fan Tokens into their digital ecosystems demonstrating how partners are fully embracing our new vision and technology to open up the benefits of holding Fan Tokens to millions of new users.

Fans of recently onboarded Tottenham Hotspur have already been able to enjoy the fruits of the club’s groundbreaking new partnership with which saw Fan Tokens integrated into the club’s existing membership scheme – a first for a football club.

All these product and tech integrations are just the start of how the platform envisages its future to take shape. Expanding Fan Tokens beyond the app and integrating into clubs’ official assets and activities marks the next evolutionary step to provide users all around the world with improved accessibility and expanded utility across an ever-widening range of platforms and digital ecosystems.

Growth in key markets 

Whilst the leading fan engagement and rewards app continues to grow its user base on a global scale, there was also exciting news to bear in emerging markets – Latin America in particular, following in Brazil’s footsteps as one of’ most celebrated regions. 

The European club season may well be wrapped up but this Summer’s continental football tournaments will offer Fan Token holders of’s international partners yet more exciting rewards through further access to an ever increasing catalogue of digital collectibles as well as a host of VIP tickets through ‘The Fabric of Champions’ collection. 

Blending the world of physical and digital, the campaign offers Fan Token holders of Argentina and Italy the chance to not only redeem unique digital collectibles, but also the chance to win official jersey’s of the team whose Fan Token they locked through’s recently launched Locker Room feature.
