After the crazy and entertaining qualifying rounds, the stage for the Davis Cup by Rakuten2022 has been set , and tennis fans can look forward to more elite tennis once the finals get underway in November 2022.

What is The Davis Cup by Rakuten?

The Davis Cup by Rakuten is the premier international team event in men’s tennis. This tournament was first played in 1900 and features the very best pros from across the world. 16 nations qualify for the Group Stage and the top two teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

Where is the Davis Cup by Rakuten 2022 being played?

Four countries hosted the Davis Cup by Rakuten:

  • Spain – Pavelló Municipal Font de Sant Lluís, Valencia, Spain
  • Germany – Am Rothenbaum, Hamburg
  • Italy – Unipol Arena, Bologna
  • Great Britain – Emirates Arena, Glasgow

After the group stages, the tournament heads to Malaga, where the knockout stages will be contested at the Martin Carpena Arena.

Davis Cup by Rakuten 2022 dates

After the qualifying rounds were held at the start of last March and the group stage was played for September 13 – 18, the knockout stages will then take place between November 23rd – 27th in the venues listed below.

Who has qualified for the Davis Cup by Rakuten 2022?

16 nations have qualified for the Davis Cup Finals by Rakuten in 2022. They are split into four groups of four nations, with the top two teams in each section advancing to the quarter-finals.

Serbia were drafted in to replace Russia, while Canada and Great Britain were handed wildcards. The host nations are Italy, Spain, Great Britain and Germany and each city will host a group.

When are the finals?

The Davis Cup by Rakuten 2022 finals will be held in Malaga, in from the 22nd – 27th of November. Each fixture will consist of two singles and one doubles match. All will be played on the same day, each decided by who wins the best of three tie-break sets. Its fast pace, exciting, and elite tennis all the way!

Four players are then selected to take part in each tie, and it is the captain who sets the team.
